How long did it take for them to appear?

0 on my 16" 8890. I do have a "smear" - a roughly 8-pixel area where the backlighting is a bit dim - though. But it's not noticeable unless you've got something bright displayed in that spot and you are looking right at it.

EDIT: I would actually PREFER a single bad pixel (a black one, not a stuck-on one) to this smear, after thinking about it!

One on my 15'' uxga.

This is a good poll. I've wanted some kind of feel other than the various posts on bad pixels on how bad the problem really is. My gut feel is its not really that bad, probably less than 1% to 2% overall.

Yes I realize that for those with a pixel problem, it doesn't help a whole lot to know they are 'special'. I feel for you and feel even more special that out of my 6 SAGERs to date, not a single pixie.

It'd be good to get some polls up on other subjects as well.

0 on the WXGA on the 4780........

I have one, but I would have never noticed it except I had something on the LCD right near it that I wiped off and just happened to see a black spot when looking up close. I wonder if some are saying zero but never looked close enough.

I had my 8890 pixel perfect for three months, then one morning i woke up to some cyan pixels. They don't show up blatantly at any time. They are black on a red screen and cyan on white screen. on a black screen they are black. Very hard to see them, not distracting whatsoever, just not a perfect screen anymore. ohh well! for old times sake!

5680= o dead----0 stuck---- 1 week old.

Zero dead (out of 1600x1200) after about 10 months. This 5670 has such a great screen!
post #18 of 35
I know of 4 personal 5680's with UXGA that have 0 dead pixels.

1 8890 16" with 0 dead pixels

6 company 5680's with the SXGA and all of them have 0 dead pixels.

That is 11 sagers and no dead pixels yet. I do have a Compaq Presario with a 1" line in the bottom right corner of the screen, go figure.

Does a non-responsive area on an Etch-a-Sketch count?

So initially when I powered mine on for the first time I found 6... After the OS was done they all were working again.. Then a small black square showed up near the bottom...tapping the screen once made IT go away.. Lastly after using it for 48 hours straight the only thing left is a small tiny little red? pixel thats really no problem at all in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen.

Just like my other notebook (HP Omnibook2 had about 5-6 red pixels when it arrived) they seem to go away after a little use. Maybe it was a bad connection after shipping or something. The dead square (30pixels?) kind of freaked me for a second...but have had absoultely no problems since. The screen is totally amazing! 1600x1200 never looked so good :P
