safe to convert video on a laptop

Hello,
I am wanting to convert a video on my laptop for playback on my palm. I don't have a problem encoding the video, but am worried about doing damage to my laptop since it is so processor intensive.

Thank you,
Dave

Cant see it doing any harm, will just take longer wont it?

That won't be a problem. As long as you keep your system well ventilated and use it as directed you should be OK.

I encode all the time. It's playing games that burn laptops up. Stresses the gpu and cpu...

yep, no harm. It will heat up a bit from the load, but todays modern cpu's have protection from overheating. They just throttle back with no damage done

You will be fine
