generals game freezes at menu

i have an area-51m, and generals freezes at the menu everytime it starts up. any ideas? i just recieved the notebook today. updated to the latest ati drivers so far. uninstalled/reinstalled the game. nothing else installed but generals. i'll try a different game and check results.. any ideas?

This happens with those ATI driver. The only way I have found to fix the issue is to install the omega drivers. I forgot the site were I got em from, anyone else have that link right off hand?
