3DMark scores

Thread Starter
I'll start a thread with some 3DMark scores. If you would like to add, please feel free to do so. This way we can compare what others are getting.

These are done with 3DMark 03 latest build set to default settings.

With Omega drivers 2504

(default clock 338 core / 243 mem)
Score: 2761

(371 core / 277 mem)
Score: 3082

That's a great score with overclocking! Have you played any games with those speeds? What happens with me is that as soon as i overclock, using POWERSTRIP, games start freezing after onl about 15 minutes of play. I keep i8kfangui settings on normal and i noticed that the DIMM temperatures get really high, about 90 degrees C plus. Have you noticed that too? And are you using POWERSTRIP?

It would be helpful if you let the people in the forums know CLock settings for your Video adapters

So far no freezing for me. But the temps for the DIMM is high with and without overclocking. For me it peaks at about 80 C. This is with the laptop just flat on a desk.

Im overclocking using Radlinker.

Please forgive my naivete' on this, but what is the value of overclocking, aside from boosting benchmark scores by a small margin? Does overclocking really improve a system's performance?
I like to play all the games i do with some value of AA or FA turned on, mostly, 4AA 8FA, its great for battlefield 1942. If i overclock and keep AA and FA turned on, wouldn't that cause even more load on my GPU than if it were only just overclocked. The combination of overclocking and using AA and FA is not good for my GPU, right? Someone help me out here.

I dont promote overclocking since ive directly destroyed an older 8100 overclocking what seemed to be a golden chip of a Geforce 440 go. it overclocked to maximum settings no problem but the heat became such a problem it fried the northbridge which sits just next to the ram of the GPU. needless to say the system wasnt usable but the card lives on another healthy system waiting to take the internal punishment

People Overclock i guess for any free performance they can get without having to pay for it... or for those who just want to top out whats best available. of course at the risk of damaging components

P.S.what does this do i8kfangui
yes you can mix ram but for best performance and temperatures use 2 kingmax rams instead of mixing one with another brand fangui is a temperature monitoring software used to cool the laptop at will!

look at me!

I get 3498 3DMarks on 1.7GHz and 420/310, but BoP is all screwed up

Note: screwing up of graphics appeared to be Powerstrip's fault. It must alter timings or stuff.
With ATiTool all is A-ok.

It looks like there is little gain with having more ram and faster CPU. It's all in the graphics card I guess.
