Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

So with Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion around the corner, what you guys think of the performance it might have on a 9300 or xps2?

It looks extremely nice from teh screens shots, but how do guys think itll hold up with these 2 computers. here are the reqs...

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion System Requirements

Recommended:
3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
1 GB System RAM
ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series , or higher video card

Minimum System Requirements:
Windows XP
512MB System RAM
2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
128MB Direct3D compatible video card
and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
8x DVD-ROM drive
4.6 GB free hard disk space
DirectX 9.0c (included)
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
Keyboard, Mouse

you think itll look that nice, and be that smooth
without O/Cing and original dell drives?

it will play, but definately not smoothly at max settings.

Agreed. I vividly remember the Morrowind release, when everyone's top-of-the-line machines came screeching to a halt.

I'm looking forward to it as much as the next guy, but Bethesda's track record of programming *optimization* is not the best. They push the envelope, but don't necessarily take the most efficient path to get there.

I think this will be one of the most challenging games to run when it first comes out. Once a few patches/driver updates come out, it should run better, but I don't think it will run very well at max resolution. I plan on waiting a bit before I pick it up--maybe until the inevitable expansion comes out.

I still have Morrowind to finish, so that makes the decision easier too.

That's how I was feeling... going to wait on a review at least.
