eMachines 6810 laptop

Hi there,
I'm having a problem with my eMachines 6810 laptop's s-video out. I plug in the s-video cable to the TV, and enabled it as an extension to my desktop, but the display on the TV is always in black & white! The cable is fine, as I can use my desktop's video card output and have it display in color on the TV.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Is the video out set to NTSC (US) or PAL (England)?

I assume it's NTSC, but I don't know. How can I check?
