Mine's brighter as well. I'd say, 3 notches brighter. Interestingly, when I rebooted, I hit function-right arrow (increase brightness), which was on its highest settings before the flash, and it literally wen brighter by 3 notches.
It's now almost too bright. The grey background on the forum isn't as dark grey, either. The grey lines are still there, but they're not nearly as pronounced.
