I was seeing ship dates of the 27th last night. Where did you hear people who order later are getting theirs sooner? Sorry to hear you had to cancel, but if you have another notebook you should be in good shape.

Crazy... I'm sorry you are very impatient and not trusting with your money, you would have been very happy with you new machine. Some parts get backordered depending on your configuration, this is why some people might be getting their machines sooner or quicker then yourself. I'm also sorry you had to wait a whole 30 minutes to deal with a 5,000$ transaction, I myself would wait days to get that money back. So please....you might want to get into more detail on why you made your decision so that it might accually help someone in the future.

Thanks for the feedback on your impatients, sorry to hear about your loss.

Alienwares site specifies that even this part you listed could delay your ship date....
any other parts may also delay your order. Its not about other peoples progress in the phase game, its yours.

I know what you mean, Dana, I went through the exact same thing. I put my order in on Nov 22nd, the est. ship date was Dec 19th. When I configured the exact same machine on the 27th of Nov, the ship date was then quoted as the 5th of December. I called, and they suggested I cancel my order and redo it, but wouldn't guarantee that would help. Thinking this wasn't worth the time and effort, I stuck it out. I noticed around that time (Dec 1st) that the 80 gb hard drive I had in my order was no longer available. I wasn't worried, I assumed that meant they had enough for my order, so I waited. On the 19th (est. ship date), I got an email saying "your hard drive is on backorder and there is not an estimated arrival date for more". I called, and upgraded to the 100gb, and it finally shipped on the 26th of Dec.

so many things to say, but I will keep my mouth shut....

I got my machine 6 days after I placed the order. phhhhhh (not that that has any relevance, but I figured I'd rub it in.)

Then I find out people who ordered the same exact system as me, who also placed the order about A week and a half after me are getting their systems sooner. I called AW and asked them why, I spoke to two people and they couldnt even understand my question. They just kept saying oh you are in Phase 3 and it will ship out by the 28th "we promise." And I was trying to explain that its not fair that people who ordered their system after mine got theirs sooner.

So I called today and Cancelled the order(which by the way was a pain! on hold for like 30 minutes...)

Now I am happy and do not care... I decided that I not just going to give $5000 to some company that does not care about being Fair...

In case you guys are wondering what I am getting next... I am not getting another notebook since I just bought a new one about A month ago (x41 Tablet...)
?

Alienware builds your machine to order. If someone else is getting their machines before you, though they ordered later, they most likely didn't order the same hardware.

I'll never understand why people order an Alienware and know the computer has to be built to your specs, then they whine when the computer isn't on their doorstep in three days.

It sounds like Dell is more in line with your philosophy.

Didnt you read my post... I said they had the same exact config... fx-60, 7800 gtx and Better screen.. Those are the crucial Parts..

And I have owned an Alienware before okay, so do not think you know something I don't... I am not the first to cancel on this forum.. $5000 is a lot to give to a company only to be forgetten about... I do not mind waiting one month as long as they fulfill the orders in order.

And yes 30 Minutes is a long time to be placed on hold... They transferred me 3 time and each time they said oh I am sorry we do not deal with cancellations.. And in the end they told me that the cancelation dept is having tech difficulties... And that they will place a note to cancel however they will call you later to confirm...

Its not like they are some Computer Gian like Dell who has to deal with 10x more clients...

And one more things, I am not racist, but why the hell do they hire people who have such strong Indian accents... who cant even understand what I am saying....
They don't hire people with Indian accents, and Dell sells pre-built limited configurations and are a $35-$45 billion dollar a year company. Alienware is about $225 million a year at this point.

No need to get snooty with people here, nobody here works for Alienware.

Again, if getting a computer before your friends, or worrying about delivery dates is more important to you than the computer you're buying, go to Dell.

P.S. I am not the first this has happened to....

Plus forget about me, I feel bad for the people that ordered their comp in January and early February with the same specs as mine and they Still Have not recieved their laptops...
You back off.

You wanted a custom built Alienware, but you cancelled because you thought someone else might get their first. Then you come in here to bitch and attack anyone that responds to you.

Grow up.

Sounds like Alienware got the good end of this stick... Some one to cancel their order because they are impatient is a good thing. Just think if something would have happened to this guy under warranty. He would have thrown a fit and cost them lots of time and money.

So with that said, I thank you for not getting a system cause you would surely be someone that would throw a fit because you scratched your laptop or maybe you would have been the person that thought your system is running to hot and sent it in to the depot 10 times when you just didn't know that they all run that way.

So Thanks!!

They're not Indian. Their call center is in Costa Rica.

For the record I already have an Alienware Laptop that I bought at the begining of last year.

You guys do not seem to understand my point.

To all of you bring up the fact that some people may have different specs, you obviously cannot read. I have stated that people with the same specs have move along the phases faster.

And I am not the first to cancel, It is not wirth being pushed around after paying almost $9000 to a company.

One more thing in reference to all the Dell comments.... I own an IBM x41 tablet... and A very powerful desktop gaming Comp built buy me... Dont try to act like I am some noob just because I do not want to wait for a laptop...

I was just upset because of Alienware's lies... They lied to me today about cancel my order saying that "the cancelation department is having technical difficulties, and we will call you day within 2 days" Then I call back two hours later and everything is fine and they cancel my order right away...

No Matter what you guys say... Alienware was unfair in this matter... I am sure this laptop would have been great, like the one I have now... (outdated as it may be.)

They just need to treat return customers better. And learn how to order parts faster.

Do not worry Grafix... I never buy a warranty anyway.. They are all ripoffs... I have never had a single propblem with any of my laptops.
