Question about Alienware Financing

Thread Starter
I decided to finance my AW. I figured it would be smart to take advantage of the 6 month same as cash promotion. Last monday I sent via express their request for a copy of my driver's license and the signed credit application. So far I've received nothing back and it's been a week. Today I finally called the financing department who said they would check and try to update my order within the next two days.

Has anyone else used their financing? Is this par for the course? I've already RECEIVED my credit card and they've done all the credit checks. How hard can it be to set up a line of credit? Shouldn't take more than a week!

Meanwhile my order sits in phase 1........yay.....

I feel your pain.. i had applied for credit and got my credit card and line of credit two months before i ordered my laptop and they still had problems processing it.. everytime i called they said "we are waiting on an email from HQ.. calls us back in 24-48 hours."

This was my first post and explains it more:
(hang in there it will change)

"I Feel bad that my first post is kinda mean but i agree with you here.. i placed my order on 3/2 and it stayed in phase 1 till today.. i talked to them a couple times this week and they have some of the worst run around stories i have ever heard.... the reason it moved out of phase 1 today is because i called and the girl tried to give me the same story everyone else did.. and then i got angry and said "wtf.. it cant possibly take you that long to process payment from an alienware credit card that i have had since January.. fix now and call me back in an hour" an hour later she called back and said the problem was fixed and she apologized for the inconvenience... i hope the rest of the processes are not that far delayed... i must say i am so far not enjoying my frist experience with alienware... i hope they continue on a good path now"

mine went by pretty smooth. it did take about a week to do. the financing dept probably has a lot of drivers licenses to go over. the only gripe i got with the AW card is that AW doesn't accept it for anything other then thier website. if you want to upgrade your warranty later you'll need a different credit card.

Even though I havne't bought the notebook yet, (I do have an Area-51 desktop) I applied for financing ahead of time. That way, I have the whole process out of the way, and when it comes time to order, there won't be any hassels. The whole process of applying took about 2.5 weeks...
