hey, i'm looking for some info re setting up fl studio 6 on my inspiron 9300 with stock sound card and sigmatel c-major audio driver. right now, the sound messes up pretty bad when i try to playback more complicated compositions. is there any way to configure fl studio 6 so it will run perfectly on my 9300? cheers for this, any help would be really appreciated.

What CPU do you have? A lot of tracks usually bog down the CPU since the on board sound utilizes it.

if anyone's interested, increasing buffer length a little seems to solve sound atifacts etc. increasing buffer length til latency is around 50ms seems to make everything run smoothly. that's for a 9300: 2gig pentium m, 1gig ram, sigmatel c-major audio.

If you are going to be doing some serious track composition, look into getting a better sound card than the built in one. You need one with VERY LOW latency. Also, a card that supports ASIO is preferable.

The creative audigy series is good, but if you are truly serious, look into M-audio products. It's what all my computer studio friends use (if they are not using Macs already. ;-)

M-audio, E-mu, Don't forget firewire external rackmounts if your crazed =D
