Bluetoothe Keyboard & Mouse for 9100?

Hi ppl,

my first post on these boards, but I've been a lurker for well over a year now since considering the purchase of a Uk-spec 9100, which I've since bought (See sig.).

Originally it was purchased for when I was away at college and not wanting to give up the luxuries of a fully fledged desktop, I opted for a 9100 (XP gen 1 wasn't available to the UK).

Since then I have come back home and swap time between the 9100 and my desktop. As I prefer my CRT to the 9100's LCD (larger screen), I hooked the 9100 up to it via an available port on my KVM switch as well as my desktop keyboard and mouse.

It works well most of the time, except when playing games, as a few keys don't register right on the 9100.

I'm considering the purchase of a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to allevaite this and make use of the bluetooth fitted to the 9100. I have looked at the MS 'optical' range, but would like to know if there are any alternatives, as this keyboard while boasting all manner of functionality, is HUGE!

On another note, I'm also actively pursuing a more 'funky' Quick Snap Lid cover for the 9100 and remember there were a few released for the XP gen 1 with some further design releases later on. I've been scouring eBay on a fairly regular basis but with little luck. Any other recommendations other than Dell direct please?

Finally, I would like to congratulate the moderators and active members of this particular forum in helping me make an informed choice on the my eventual laptoip purchase and the general impartial advice given thereafter. That sticky was/ is INVALUABLE!

Thanks all.

cyberjoe.

P.S. Anybody looking for a bag/ holdall for their valuable laptop should consider Tom Bihn - some would consider his products pricey but the quality, security and protection afforded by them well make up for this (independant review).

I have the microsoft bluetooth elite keyboard and mouse. It sits about 15 feet away from me whilst I sit on the couch. It works well and has a quick response time to play all 3rd person games etc on the TV. The batteries can be replaced with rechargables and I typically change them once every 2 months or so.

A very worth while investment
