Yikes! That's high IMO.

On EPP, I got the same specs and warranty with WUXGA, 7800go, only 6 cell battery, no XP Pro or Lo/Jack (so that might hike it), for 1944.43 (including tax/ship) - 100 MIR = 1844.43.

The lojack only added 68 to the price and the bigger battery was only 53..... how did you get such a good price?

I guess he got such a high price because of these:
3Yr Ltd Warr, At-Home Service, 30Day DOC, PC Training, 2Yr Antivirus Suite
Microsoft Office Basic - Includes Word, Excel, and Outlook email

Do you really need the training? I bet you can get the same antivirus at a lower price in another store. Or maybe free? hinthint: mail-in-rebates; torrents.

You can also change the memory to dual ddr533. ddr667 doesnt really benefits you right now with the current Yonahs if you are running in dual channel.
Finally, you can get this:
Windows® XP Professional re-installation CD
for free. Just use the template that a member posted in the forums.

You can keep the 3 year warranty but change it to just 3 year service and drop the training and security. This will save you some money and you will still get the 12% discount.

I paid much less than this, although differences: 100gig/5400 hd, no lojack, WUXGA, 6 cell battery, no software suite.

yea, I'd say thats pretty high. Might even want to take the free upgrade on the hard drive then upgrade through ebay then resell your old one.
there is lots of ways you can save money on the computer you have customized.

Too high man for the stuff your getting with it, but I would guess thats just how much it will cost you. Did you use some coupond codes other than the mail in rebate?

I would not know all of this cause I got my 9400 on an exchange a few weeks ago and never bother to check the actual retail price.

wow, i wouldnt pay that much for a 1705. maybe 1600$ max.

wait for coupons.

exactly. If I had bought this setup when I got mine(4 weeks ago) it probablly would have been $1800 at most. I would also wait to see if they get around to offering a better gpu (if you need it)

Mine was only giving 20% and 12% off......no 30% off here.

I took off the 3 year silver package and tried it with just a 2 year at home warranty, but then I only got 20% and 6% off....so it only made the price go down by $90 from my original price

There should be an option to get the 3 year without the training and security. You still get the 12% off with this choice. You might want to wait and see if they come out with another 30% coupon. Also if you purchase using the Dell preferred account you can get another 2% off.

Good luck.

Aww. Yeah, I got one off of another member when the 30% coupon was out. I recommend you wait a bit - it can always come back!

Patience patience
