I was stuck With an HP pavillion for years . It was a horrible system even as HP's go . I have always been an AW fanboy but could not afford one and when the predator Case came out I was definately drooling over it . about October of 2004 the wife approached me and asked if I'd like to buy one , I thought she was Joking but pretty soon a $3,600 cashiers check was sent away and a couple of months later I recieved my Rig . I loved it and still do to this day . I have always been impressed by their design and how neatly they do the wiring . I do alot of Gaming (mostly FPS) and needed a good rig , I even looked at Falcon etc. but to me the Alienware Predator Case is perfect .

Always wanted an Alienware for gaming. After years of blah laptops, I finally have one. My only regret is waiting so long to pull the trigger.

looks for one, and i dont like a company that big handle a computer of mine. Plus some of the stuff other company's put in the windows OS is a pain in the butt. Roommate of mine has a dell laptop, doesnt have too many problems but its soo slow to respond to anything.

I bought my alienware because I remember seeing a AW desktop at bestbuy years ago and always wondered where they went. I did a search online for gaming laptops (I'm addicted to DiabloII and Guildwars) found voodoo, hypersonic, alienware and widow pc...I configured a top of the line machine with the same specs from all the vendors I just listed and AW was the cheapest. What really sold me though was that I found this forum before my purchase and read it for days...Couldnt belive what i was reading, so much help and support overtop of what AW could provide and a huge community of AW owners. I've always had a vendeta against HP, Gateway and Dell. Proprietary software and hardware just arent for me.

why alienware

I wanted something with a good video card and a 15-15.4" screen. The Area-51 m5500 is 6lbs, 1.4" thick, and has a 256mb GeForce Go 6600. Dell's notebooks seemed very polar (either tiny or huge, cheap or expensive, supermobile or desktop replacement), while this one seemed very balanced. Alienware has great customer support (they are extremely knowlegeable and courteous), and the system just looks sweet. Mine only set me back $1600 shipped, which means they're a good value too. Check out some reviews and you'll know why to go with Alienware.
