That was like my last E1705. Not too annoying unless there is a black background. It will get better but will never be perfect. Up to you, my replacement E1705 has just a smidgen of leakage. I wouldn't put up with it but you might not care.

Wow, that looks digusting. I would get a replacement or return for that

Yah, my old E1705 started like that and got much better, but still annoying - never a clean black like my new one

How long did it take before it was better? The i9300 i had, had a great screen, no sign of light leakage and no dead pixels, but this one has a couple. But i dont notice them.

that image is over-exposed a good deal so I cant imagine it looks as bad as that in person.

man, ask for a replacement. when i got my 6000 it had 1 dead pixel and i asked for a replacement. your light leakage is kinda bad.

you paid for a 100% perfect unit, don't settle for anything less.

though when asking for a replacement don't mention dead pixel, just say you have lots of light leakage.

in person, such as looking at it with your own eyes instead of a bad photo.

so your telling me you cant read "Windows XP" part of the screen saver in person?

If you can, then the shot is well over exposed. The longer the exposure the more light the camera records, I would imagine you can see the windows colors clearly and you can read Windows XP clearly. In these shots you can barely make out "Microsoft Windows XP (Home?) Edition."

If you cant, I am suprised you are even asking. of course its bad.

my earlier e1705 was like that.
To me i think its fine.

Once u get over the fact that u dont have the Uber perfect one, it wont bother u at all.

Rite now im so tired with sending back, waiting and replacing stuff.

I just bought 2x 20 inch dell monitors, both have leakage, but i think its good enuff.

Yeah, im blind, im actually typing this without knowing which site im in.

Ive seen many of your posts regarding light leakage. Every comment you come up with is "its over exposed". Come up with something new ok? Youre like history, repeating itself.
My screen was bad, i havent seen a screen that bad before. And i have had a lot of laptops the past few years. But its like someone said, it gets better, and it seems it has gotten better since yesterday. Strange...

lol, no need to get upset, just trying to help. If you dont want any responses, dont post. I have only said the same think to cookie, and he agreed that it was true. Sorry I didnt say "OMG THAT SUX" and tried to figure out how it was compaired to the picture. I have had only had to repeat myself because everyone wants to know how bad their light leakage is.

But have fun with your screen.

Light leakage is a minor issue really, if you can still see everything clearly and nothing is being masked or made difficult to read because of it, there isn't a significant problem.

With that being said, if mine had light leakage I would replace it
but only because I'm really fussy about what screen I use and how it looks.
