I too had problems w/ same files!!!!
Things to do:
1> Run hp software updater
2> if still exists - msconfig and disable offending processes
qtra08 is the auotupdate searcher and is not needed
mpmgr listens to printer for input from device i think Not required i think but removal takes away functionality.
lastly if still no go- contact hp support chat, get their "Super software removal tool" its a 4 stage removal tool requireing 4 reboots but is supposed to clean all remnants out, then dl the newest package from HP (v4.2) and reinstall + run all updates. Should be 2 versions- a lite version bout 50mb, less hassle and system overhed but less functionality or the full installer ~350mb more hassles more overhead but full functionality.
HP's printer driver package had been roundly critized over the last 2 years as being bloated and broken. I agree, so much so that while I love my printer (hardware and functionality) the software/drivers are so unbearable that I wont buy another hp again untill they clean it up!! hello epson and cannon.
