thats where I got both my I9300 and I9400 from, made an outstanding total savings amount of around £1,500.
can't really beat that anywhere else to be honest
and + the eBay sellers nearly always ship out GeForce 7800 models!

you can wait for dell (i personally would feel safer)

ebay isnt a bad place, but spending over 1500$ on something on there makes anyone worry.

plus its ALWAYS BETTER to buy straight from dell. ebay is nothing but troubles when it comes to new laptops.

i had a good ebay experience once. as long as the seller is reputable and has a valid warranty, i'd go for it if the price was right.

coz u can transfer warranty within US easy!

I bought from Dell, If you purchase through the Small Business Sales Center, They offer 3 yr complete care for about $300.00. I've owned and used books for a few years, In 3 years I will break this book by accident because I use it not treasure it. And when I do they will fix it free of charge or replace it. That in it self is worth it. Unless you plan to not take the book out much.

My rules with dabbling at eBay are very strict with high priced items.
For people wanting to buy from eBay, make sure the item is New and properly stated, that the seller has 50+ sales with 98% positive feedback and above, preferably from a PowerSeller that also includes Postal Insurance, otherwise it's a big risk.
If you take all of these factors into account, you will be perfectly fine.

Why buy from Dell when you can save an average of around £800 to £1,000 on eBay?

because in the US, we have coupons that allow us to already save that much.

why buy from ebay, if you can get from dell for the same price or cheaper?

ebay auctions are overpriced, and people are getting 100$ for shipping....ridiculous.

I bought this E1705 on Ebay, paid 1200.00 USD. What I discovered afterwards was you need the information from the Seller of who originally bought the laptop so you can transfer it, otherwise Dell does not want to talk to you. The seller gave me this info no problem and one phone call and it was done.

The thing will Ebay besides the reputable seller, is patience, set your limit for bidding, and when it goes by your limit take solace in the fsact that some idiot just paid too much.

I shopped for 3 weeks before I got the one I wanted, but I was also limited to options because I was getting this shipped to me in the USA where I am on buisness and not to my Home address in Canada. Many sellers will not do that, but with 650+ feedbacks I managed to find a few.

Lastly, I just transfered the warranty from USA to Canada, International trasnfers are not a problem. but you need all the right info for Dell to make it happen.

yes, this is something really to watch for, other than that I would find the person with the best rating and most transactions.

I a bad note there was a guy in my hall last semester who ebayed the same notebook o TWO people without shipping it.

He is currently facing legal action.

Well I did it, I made a purchase from a power seller on ebay for essentially the same machine in my signature except it is a 1.83 not 1.66 and 100GB hdd not the 80GB, everything else is a match. Same warrantee etc. Came to 1490 with shipping. Guy has 412 feedback and 100% rating, his feedbacks were excellent, lots of (Fast shipping, etc) you can tell all he does is buy Dells, gets the rebates and makes money just selling them just above the after rebate price, probably making 100 to 200 per machine, very smart. I will end up paying about $100 more, but at least no more run around with dell. And it is going to be here in 3 days not April 4th, or who knows when.

He's gots E1705's though with WUXGA and 7800's so. Its all good......

And if he may get away with it, I had a looser last year do the same thing to me in TN off ebay, I should have been more careful. I also made a purchase of the same machine just last month got a pretty good deal too, reputable seller and all but he refunded my cash because I wanted to sent to my work not home. Took over 30 days to get the money back on my card to reorder and be right back in the same wait game. Almost 3 months with no machine, but to share my wifes pc

is he an authorized reseller? if not i think its not legal to make a profit like that, and keep buyingn from dell.

anyways, i wonder how he'd report that as income, if he doesnt....

"...knock knock....Hell sir, this is the IRS, you are being AUDITTED!!!"

Does not make a bit of difference how he does his business, he sells alot of laptops, so he may have a premier account, and be selling as a partner, which again is his business what do I care, as long as the laptop shows up =)

I Paid a good price for what it is, not much more than what I originally ordered from dell (and still have no status on it, and it has been over 15 days) they upped the estimated time to ship to 4/5/06..

I have a tracking number now, the laptop from this guy on Ebay should show up by the 21st/22nd of next week.... I will post my experience and if all is well as I expect it to be. This guy I bought it from on ebay has been super so far as his feedback states...
