Hey all,
I’m writing a marketing plan for my Intro to Marketing class at UNB (yea yea, it’s my elective). This is a survey for some convenience sampling research for my project.
The hypothetical product in this project is a new 6th Generation iPod which Apple has been rumored to be developing, which has a touchscreen on the entire front face. You can see a mock-up picture of one here: http://www.rainydaymagazine.com/RDM2...IPod/50_50.jpg

Thanks a lot everybody!
Sincerely,
Tim Chang
PS. It’d also be appreciated if you have a few buddies you could send this to as well. Thanks again everyone
0.(Cause I added this question in after the survey was done, d’oh!)
What demographic do you fit into?
Age:
<10
10 - 13 middle school
13 - 15 early high school
15 - 18 late high school
18 - 25 university
25 - 40
40 - 60
60+
1.Do you current own a MP3/Portable Media Player? If so, what capacity and model?
2.What is the first type of player that comes to mind?
3.Would you consider buying a new MP3 player within the next year? If so, what model and capacity?
4.What class of MP3 player most suits your needs? Value, Midrange or Mainstream?
- Value Flash (256MB - 1GB, small, skip-free, $80 - $200, around 56 - 125 songs)
Examples: Creative Micro, iPod Shuffle
- Midrange Flash/Hard Drive (1GB - 6GB, midsized, $200 - $300, around 125 - 1250 songs)
Examples: iPod Nano, iPod Mini (discontinued), iRiver H10, Creative Zen Micro
- Mainstream Hard Drive (20GB - 60GB, $380 - $500, around 7500 - 15000 songs)
Examples: Creative Zen Vision:M, full-sized iPod
5.What do you think are the iPod’s (Nano or Video models) best features? Which of these features are important to you?
6.What is your opinion of the current 5th Generation iPod’s price point? $379 for 30GB model, and $499 for 60GB
7.If Apple released a new 6th Generation iPod, with features as follows:
- same dimensions as the current video iPod
- a 4-inch touchscreen, 640x480 resolution
- virtual clickwheel
- 20 hour music or 6 hour video battery life
- movies offered for download off iTunes
- same price point as the 5th Generation, $379 for 30GB and $499 for 60GB
on a 0 to 10 scale, how likely would you purchase one within the next year? 0 means “no chance”, and 10 means “I’m off to the Apple store right now with cash in hand”.
PS. I apologize if surveys are against the rules of these forums - I read over the rules thread and it didn't say anything against project surveys, unless I missed something.
EDIT: took out and reword a few things since this was originally an email to my friends survey, and I just straight copy-pasted... oops!
