Could someone please tell me which display this is? I don't see any reference to LG or Samsung. This is the replacement that was set up for me.

WH276 SERVICE KIT, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, Wide Ultra Extended Graphics Array, GLARE WIDE VIEWING ANGLE, 17, 9400

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Are you sure about this? I don't see this part number posted or mentioned anywhere else. I assume that it is the same exact Samsung model I already have....sec5557. I was hoping they would listen to my request and send the LG. I asked that the tech call me tomorrow AM whether or not the part has been received. I will see if he/she can get me an LG. I doubt the a second Samsung will be better than what I have now.

im positive, dell sent me the wrong screen (xga), i was supose to get a wuxga, I complained and they wanted to send me that screen exactly. I asked which one it was and he took 5 minutes and figured out from going to the lab it was a samsung model. I told him I will wait on my exchange then. . Im sorry about getting a shitty screen bro. Good luck.

How can you specify a certain screen model and actually receive it? I gave them the part number for the LG and they sent the WH276. I called today to get it changed and was told that tech support can not do that. I am on hold now for customer service. Why wouldn't they want to try a different model since many people have complained about the Samsung and have even done multiple exchanges? The tech, however, was very courteous and tried to help. Did say I could sent it back for credit even though I am slightly out of my 21 days, but I have the 7800 and do not want to wait forever to get a replacement or reorder for the 1400. Was also told that Dell exchanges parts for same and that is why I am getting the Samsung again. Yet I have had Dell exchange parts that were the same except from a different manufacturer.

Updated parts info

Got nowhere with customer care as per requesting specific screen. However, did talk to tech support again and found out the the DF028 part number specifiying LG 17" LCD, WUXGA, has been nullified. The part number for LCD screens for E1705/9400 is as follows:

WXGA: WH275

WUXGA+ WH276

No specific manufacturer is specified with the description. Maybe Dell got tired of people looking up the parts, seeing a certain manufacturer specified and calling to request a different part. Perhaps this is their way of being as generic as possible.

Received WH276 and it was Samsung. Tech replaced and NOT acceptable. More light leakage than my original LCD panel and very uneven brightness on darker colors. Had him put the original panel back on. He is going to report the problem to Dell and I am planning on calling tomorrow.
