Question about a T60 I recently ordered

Hey guys I recently placed an order for a T60 with the following specs:

• 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo Processor T2300
• 512MB RAM
• 80GB hard drive
• DVD±RW (±R DL)/DVD-RAM
• ATi 64mb X1300
• WiFi 802.11a/b/g 10/100/1000 Ethernet
• cellular mdm/mdm CDMA 2000 1X EV-DO
• Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional
• 14.1" SXGA+ display
• Manufacturer Warranty 3 years warranty

$1,499.25

My question is...I'll be doing light gaming with this computer with WOW and maybe a few FPS and was wondering if this was the notebook to get or should I be looking at the T42 with the 64mb Ati 9600 card? I wouldn't mind the X1400, but I needed the 14 inch screen and didn't want to spend more than I had too. Thanks!

Not sure you'd wanna do that for gaming. From what I've read, x1400 > 9600:

Pretty sure T60's equip their x1400's w/ 128MB (your specs quote an x1300? What model # T60 did you order?), so not only should the x1400 be faster than the 9600 it'll have twice as much dedicated RAM as well.

Thanks for that link! My model number is 2623D2U and it comes with the 64mb X1300. The X1400 is not an option for me because I want the 14inch screen.

I suspect your model will handle WoW just fine, but it might struggle with an FPS ...depending on the settings you choose. The processor should help.

Thanks, I think I've found an even better solution, which is the 2623D7U. It is basically the same as the model I ordered excpet that it has a 2.0ghz Processor T2500 w/Centrino, 100 gig HD instead of 80, and the 128mb x1400 card all with the 14inch screen! It's a little bit more, but I think this just may be my ticket!

That is a sweet config. It also has a flexview screen, the best screen Thinkpad offers.
