External Monitor NOT working

Ladies, Gents - HELLLLLPPPPPPP !!!!!
M6805, catalyst 6.2, XP Home
External Monitor SUN GDM-5410
It ain't working. Plugging this monitor to a normal PC (w2K) - voilĂ , no problemo. Any suggestion? I un.install, re-install plug and play display to no avail, updating hardware driver = still no go

sure, done that. it seems that there is "some" signal sending out, but the external monitor keeps saying NO connection. i tried different VGA cables as well. Someone mentioned about ATI mobility is very pricky about this. My SUn GDM-5410 is multiscan & multisync so it would not be any issue picking up different resolutions.
I tried 1024 + 16 bits colours, in and out, 60mhz and 75 mhz and as needed. Still no go.

any suggestion is mostly welcome!
i am slowly realising that the issue is by the VGA port. any idea as how to replace/fix the bloody thing short of replacing the whole GPU?
where have all the xperts gone .... (as in where have all the flowers gone...)

well - fix it! finally
the dingy was cracked (?), probably from jerking the display cable in and out. I replaced with a new adapter, took the old one out and resolder the new in.
