7900GTX laptop - Page 3

post #41 of 46
That's good news. I'm lookng forward to upgrading from my 6800 to the 7900. The 6800 is a great card but there's a couple of games it doesn't run well and one it won't hardly run at all (Oblivion). Since the upgrades include a new mobo and card, and warranties on both, I won't have to fret about another mobo death (my mobo died with only a week left on the original waranty!).

dam at least you had that week I guess mine died a while back as well but I think it may have been my fauld because I placed the Laptop on top of a Hair Tie and I think some hair got caught in the fans causeing heat problems

@Vollgasasi

Of course you are right, it´s not exactly MXM but that doesn´t matter. At least 9860/9880/9750 using the same slot and others too I guess.... enough to go on developing and producing modules fitting in our beloved lappys....

I´m 100% sure we will see G80 in our machines... (if we can afford of course...)

ok here is what I want in lets say a dream world. All the cards have to fit a specific slot and size or form factor so that many companies can produce replacement cards and there would actually be competition on these cards. With compettition then we could actually get a card for a decent price. They may even try and work withing our current power and heat useage specs so that we would need a new motherboard every time we want to upgrade cards. Now I know this is a Pipe dream but it would be nice.
