9750 Keeps Rebooting

So I'm watching some streaming video from Comcast earlier today and my Hypersonic FX7 (same as 9750) suddenly froze. I restarted my notebook thinking nothing of it. Windows loaded back up and a minute later it froze again! I kept trying to reboot it but it kept freezing.

It seems as though the problem has worsened because now my notebook is either freezing or rebooting on its own BEFORE Windows can even load up. I thought maybe if I did a full reinstall of everything but that won't work since the system keeps freezing/restarting. The notebook will randomly freeze/restart any time- during boot up, while in the BIOS menu, when in safe mode.

I'm thinking something is wrong with my motherboard or possibly my hard drive. I have 2 sata 7200rpm 100gb hard drives in raid 0 format. Maybe the Raid 0 caused a problem?

Any ideas? I'm waiting to hear back from tech support at this time.

After doing a little more research I found a few others with similar, but not identical problems. I saw someone mention the bad memory stick problem. I'm still waiting for tech support to get back to me, I'll mention it to them and see what they think.

I tried swapping and reseating the memory sticks but it didn't fix anything. I'm shipping my notebook back to hypersonic on Monday to let them figure it out. I'll post what they find in case this happens to anyone lese in the future.

I had a problem once with my desktop and raid, the computer was less than 2 weeks old and one of the drives started to fail. Windows went screwy and from there I was stuck in a boot loop. I ran a HD test and had an error code from that and got an RMA for the drive. So, yes raid COULD be the problem.

I started experiencing the same behaviour last week, but the system kept working - until the damaged disk area was accessed I guess. Then today the drive failed entirely.

I suspected something the like when I had the first freeze last saturday (Only the first one gave a BloD), but the drive hardware checks I did went by without noticing anything.

Now the RAID controller officially reports the drive to be broken.

was:
NP 9750 - X2 4200+ - 2 GB RAM - 240 GB RAID-0
