Can someone direct me to where I can find this program? Im not at home so I dont have the CD with me. I tried the toshiba website but the Canada 1 gave me a different program, and the U.S 1 gave me an error while installing. Can someone help me out with this?
Thank you

Note: I tried going to other places such as the UK site and the US site, but when the installation is complete, it gives me a fatal error and I cant run it

I don't know what model you have, but I always find everything on the US site HERE. IIRC, in the few models I've dealt with you have to install the ACPI common modules before installing the power saver. Did you do that?

Ive tried d/l Power Saver and BIOS on the Canada site for the M50 and it keeps coming up as Pellas C. Is that just me, or is there something wrong with Toshiba's website?

Before installing any Toshiba Utilities(power saver, power managament, hot key..) make sure you install Toshiba ACPI common modules.

Try to uninstall Toshiba Power Saver from Control Panel before installing new version..

Do you know
1. If the us downloads will be compatible with an Australian Toshiba?
2. Which ACPI common module would i need? I had a look and found a few different ones.

P.S. Sorry if i am bumping up on old thread.

I would say that they should as long as the hardware is the same (i.e. the same model line). What model do you have? Have you tried loonking HERE at the Toshiab australia support site?

I have a Satellite A100 with a intel celeron M proccessor.

And yes, i did try searching the Australian Toshiba site. Unfortualty it is near impossible to find the download section, and i only managed to do that via to the horrible search fuction, and the two versions of the powersaver both give error messages.

HERE is the link to the download center from Toshiba.au. Enter your model number and it should take you to what they have available for your notebook, which really is a pretty pathetic set of downloads (there is very little there).

You wouldn't happen to have the restore disk would you? Restoring it with that will put all the software and drivers back in place the way it came from Toshiba.

If not I would say go ahead and try the ACPI modules for a A100 from the US site and that most closely matches your model then install the powersaver stuff (and just hope that if it's incompatible that it will spit an error message at you). Also make sure you remove any toshiba software (not the drivers, just the applications) before installing the ACPI modules.

To figure out which one would be the best, what are the rest of the numebrs in your model. The A100 should be followed by a dash about 3 or 4 digits. Those digits specify the exact configuration that includes things like chipset, CPU and what not.

Yeah, I have to agree with you that that is a pathetic set of drivers. It contains neither ACPI modules nor the power saver app. And seeing my luck with Toshiba and laptops in general, i don't think that i really want to try my luck with uninstalling every toshiba app on my computer and hoping it will reinstall. Its a pity, I was impressed with Toshiba untill this happened.

You wouldn't know any 3rd party power applications?

Look on the bottom of your laptop. There should be a silver sticker that has the complete part number and serial number. The part number should be something like this: PTM2VU-0007T8 (that's the number on mine). Post the part number (but NOT the serial number) of your laptop and I'll see which one of the US models will come as close as possible. Then you can download the stuff there.

I've only used the Toshiba power manager as it seems perfect. I have heard good things about Notebook Hardware Control, though.

Do you have the restore CD?

My Model number is PSAA2A - XXXXXX, and I still have my restore DVD (it was the first thing i checked when i had this problem). Unfortualty, i could not find any utility that resembled the power saver on it tho.

Fantastic. When I googled info on you laptop yesterday, I was able to get the specs for it, but I didn't have time to look through the specs of the other models to see which would have the greatest chance of working. I'm glad you found one that worked.
