FE or MCE issue? -hanging shutdown

I've had my FE11H now for five days, and it's great- apart from one enduring issue. I don't think it's completed shutdown more than a couple of times- tend to hang...............................................and hang on the 'windows is shutting down' screen. I usually end up losing patience and simply pressing and holding the power key, but I don't want to have to do that indefinitely as some pressure is required and i don't want to break the key. Anyone else experience this? Is this a known issue with either the FE or MCE- or is it just my machine?

You wouldn't happen to have Norten Security on your machine would you?

After I installed Norton on my FE it started doing the same thing. I have not had any real problems, just very annoying to have to wait to see if it is going to shut off or freeze.

I dumped Norton, ran msconfig, and installed a little utility called 'smart close.' I've noticed a real improvement since installing the latter- flawless startup and shut down. PC Booster also gave the computer a real.....er, boost! Still want to know what the issue was, though- can't have been norton since that was virtually the first thing i uninstalled.
