hey all

i got the 5270 and was thinking of doing a fresh install.

I have an illegal copy of windows xp pro sp2. My question to you all is, can I install using that disc, but use the cd-key that is on the underside of the notbook. Will it work, or will the disc not accept the key?

thanks
sxm

edit: PS: what is in the PQSERVICE partition? is it nessecary? should it be converted to ntfs, or can it be?

Talking about illegal software on forums is generally frowned upon. Just a heads up...

The 5672 is an Aspire --> normally is always XP Home, and OEM, so changing keys is a no no

Choppy sound going mad

Hi Everyone, I also have choppy sound, and I have almost re-installed the whole windows and keep having it... Tonight I will check if its hardware related or drivers, by running Ubuntu..... I can't even play an mp3 doing nothing else and the sounds almost stops the PC..... I have updated to BIOS 3224 and all the new drivers, maybe I should throw it out the window.... Tonight will be doing more updates that I can find, BIOS to 3324 and any other drive updates.... This sucks....

Update to your latest Audio driver @ www.realtek.com.tw Make sure you know what you doing before proceed. Or disable some uneeded sharing IRQ devices.
