m3400 touchpad issues?

Thread Starter
I have read quite a few folks in general complaining about the Alienware touchpads, do all the models use the same part and have that same response/touch stuff people complain about?

The model I am leaning towards is the m3400, just curious on that touchpad if anyone has commented better or worse or the same as older touchpad models.

Also tryin to decide do I spend extra for extended warranty 2-3 yrs or up the processor and ram (its either or at this point) I might go with 2 yr and higher processor and add more ram later just tight on overal pricing at the moment.

I have not read alot about touchpad issues...but as to warranty...always protect your investment with the 3yr...add Ram later

I have the 3400 you should check out my review, it's either somewhere on this page or the second one. As far as the touchpad goes for me I've never owned a laptop before this one so getting use to it was understandable but other than that I like it. You have to be careful not to create much static and shock because on a few occasions I've done that and it stopped working totally but returned to its normal state after a restart. It's a great laptop I would reccomend it to anyone.

excellent point from nomandant.

getting used to a touch pad can mean many frustrating accidents where it appears that the touchpad is malfunctioning. in fact, it's usually lazy typing posture. remember high school typing class? Are your wrists supposed to rest on the desk? NO!!!!! that's how you get carpal tunnel!
