Ok, as you can see from my sig, I've had my system for about 2 years now. Well recently my battery has started only lasting about 90 minutes on average. The strange part is that less than 6 months ago I was taking it to work with me and letting it sit on the back counter playing music for nearly 4 hours.
The only thing I've done in the past four months that could have had any effect on battery performance was changing from a 1.7 Pentium M(Bania) to a 2.0 Pentium M(Dothan) and theoretically that should have actually improved my battery performance a tiny bit. I just had to replace my HDD last week because my old one was about to crash. I thought that maybe that was the problem and when I reinstalled WindowsXP that it may have remedied the problem. No dice. Problem still exists. So I'm left with one of two choices...
Buy a new battery -or- Try to hunt down the problem
Any guesses. Is it common for batteries to degrage suddenly like that? Or could it be something else going on in my system?
