Loader error 3? Latitude C640

Hi, out of the blue, starting saturday, whenever I power on my Latitude C640, I get an error message:

Windows 2000 could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
Loader error 3.
Please contact your support person to report this problem.
Any ideas on the cause, or how to fix this, I have already tried flashing the bios to the latest version, A10.

Just the boot partition needs to be reimaged?

Is there somewhere that has a decent tutorial on this procedure?
