Hi:

I've been on the Avid commuity forum for a month with this problem, thought I'd try here. Acer Aspire 5672 with ATI x1400 card, and Avid 4.5 or Premiere 6.0 don't get along. Video freeze problem in capture and play back. Anybody know about a way to solve this?

What are you capturing from (Camcorder, capture card, connection...)? Can you capture with any app, say Virtual VCR or VLC? What format is the video? Did you install any codecs? Not enough information to even hazard a guess.

Working in DV (or DVCAM). I'm set up the same way I was for two years with an HP. Laptop running Avid and capturing either off of my DV/DVCAM camera or a compatable deck. I have Quick time 7 intalled. Adobe DVD. PowerDVD. Been dealing with this in the AVID forums for a month and everything there points to my ATI video card. When I capture with the Windows movie maker program, or the ACER program, pre-installed, everything runs fine (of course I can't use these programs for my purposes).
When I use my girlfriends PC laptop running an ATI x550 card, I can capture and play back with no issue with AVID.
