From Imac to Powerbook to Macbookpro

This is the third Mac that I've had. The Macbookpro. I first started out with the imac core duo and loved it, however it wasn't portable. I then changed to the powerbook 17inch but that was too slow compared to the imac. I have now gone with the macbookpro and I couldn't be more happy. The macbook pro is VERY fast when it comes to using universal programs. I know that some of you have to use things like photoshop and I would understand if you NEED to use the powerPC interface, however when all the programs become universal the power of the intel chip will be much more clear.
If anyone has an imac the macbook pro is practically the same thing but portable. I would recommend it if you have the money, if you don't that is totally understandable.

What is wrong with the keyboard? Is it similar to the PB keyboards?

Anyway, nice purchase. I plan on upgrading my PB in the future.

What's the little green light up next to the camera? I've never seen that mentioned anywhere.

About the keyboard: I've heard someone else complaining about the keyboard as well. She doesn't like it compared to the PPC PowerBooks. Says the keys don't go down as far and the spacing's off.

i bought a macbook pro last week and love it. I like the keyboard alot. This was my first mac. I was kind of scared at first because not being very familiar with osx but heard alot of good things about. I was impressed. By the way the green light means the camera is on.

The keyboard is exactly the same as the powerbook models, after having the 17inch powerbook I notice no difference in the keyboard. The keys go down the same amount and the spacing is exactly the same. By the way if anyone is wondering about the battery life. it's actually quite good, I tested it out by using it for what I like to do. ( record music from my keyboard and drums) and watching a DVD I got about 3.5 hours out of it. This is at MAX brightness. got Mp3s the battery can last VERY long because the screen turns off and only the speakers are on. I was up to about 3.5 hours listening to music but I had to go so I didnt get to finish the mp3 test, I believe it still said about 35 minutes.

Thats exactly what i dont like, the keys dont travel down far enough, plus the spacing is kind of weird. I guess you get used to it, but i love teh keys on my asus, they have huge rubbers behind them, so they go ll the way down then pop up.

I'm surprised they did that. Apple generally doesn't add extra lights and such.

I'm surprised they used a green light instead of a white light (ala the keyboard, the sleeping light, etc)

I know this may be a stupid question, but does the MacBook Pro use an alluminum case like the Powerbook's?? I'm thinking of making the switch, and trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks!
