Fan not speeding up when playing games

Playing FEAR today i noticed that performance completely suddenly tanked, as if for no reason. I wasnt sure why, but then i checked by temperature...it said 90C for the GPU. Yeah, that seems a bit much to me. I then noticed that barely any air was coming from the back of the fan, it was spinning on low (if infact it was spinning at all). I then tried a different driver (on 84.21 right now) and the same problem. Anyone know why my fan is suddenly deciding it doesnt want to spin anymore? I really dont want to game knowing this is happening.

you can use i9kfangui to monitor your fan speed. You can manually control the fan speed or have it auto-adjust to gpu or cpu temp.

Thank You. Upon using the program it seems that the Fan never reaches its high level, always staying around 3800rpm. I can force high speed, however the fan will still toggle back down to around 3800rpm after a few seconds even though it is forced.

I don't have any problems with it, but I am on a I9300.

If the performance drops the GPU must be reaching 95C, clean your fans and make sure you got the latest version of FEAR.
