Tired! (Of Playing)

Anyone knows if there are any new FPS games coming out the pike soon? Kind of getting tired of playing farcry, hl2, cod2, fear, etc. over and over again. One game I haven't played yet is quake 4, although I played the very short demo. Is this any good? Worth the $40 or so?

If you want something different then get Postal 2. Try the demo first because it may be too twisted for some ppl.

When is a new Ghost Recon coming out?

Don't play games as much would help, it's not hard to get sick of something if u play all the time.

I've never played a game as much as I do BF2.. mind you, it's not because it's any good, but just because I'm addicted...

I am guessing you have played counterstrike source which is pretty much like crack just like bf2. I have not played bf2 yet because i am already addicted to CSS and cant see wasting more time playing another game.

Medal of Honor Allied Assult. The best online FPS EVER.

Is DOD source any good? It's $20 at bestbuy and I'm considering buying it.

BF2 is addicting.

I'm sorry to say that I thought BF2 was horrible. Get into MMORPG's like Guild Wars which has free online play. Great game! As for FPS, surprisingly, I just play Halo online because its free and it's fairly fast paced, not to mention A LOT FASTER than BF2.

I can't believe none of you have played MOHAA online... what a bunch of boons.

MMORPGs can be extremely time consuming...

Get King Kong the game, it handles like crap but its a really fun game! it was a very entertaining 6 hours.

Also try Indigo Prophecy or Beyond Good and Evil if you're bored of typical games.

as for online i dunno Trackmania Nations?

Although I've been playing for around 12+ years now, I have to confess to all of you vast audience of this forum that I haven't played any game online yet. Yeah, I've heard about how good counterstike is and BF2 online, but see, I just recently got broadband and to be honest, playing with seasoned online gamers might be too intimidating. However, that is not to say that I won't. I really do enjoy just playing single player and matching wits with the computer.

I also have to confess that I'm an addict, game that is. If you've been playing as long as I have, I think you can be categorized as one. And it's really difficult to quit, just like any addiction. I did stop playing at one point because I contracted carpal tunnel syndrome. Man, that was a bummer. I have to wear this wrist whatchamathingy for a few months. It wasn't very painful, but I always get this tingling sensation radiating from my arm to my finger tips. It was very irritating. If you are a heavy, heavy player I'm pretty sure you've had this in one form or another. But as soon as I got better, I resumed playing again, although more moderately. I wish there's an equivalent of AA for game addicts. Really, it is not just the time you consume, but you have to admit that is a pretty expensive habit (hobby?). It is not just the software itself but you always have to keep up with the hardware also. It's a never ending spending cycle.

BTW, I bought BF2 when it first came out and didn't really enjoy it that much like I enjoyed HL2 and FarCry. It is maybe because it is geared more towards team play rather than single player. I played Doom3 but didn't finish it. I feel that there's really nothing new with this game, just a rethread of the older doom series.

I've played all of the MOH expansions, except pacific assault. Haven't played it online obviously. I did enjoy this series.

DOD is online only right?

Although I like playing games, I'm a purely FPS gamer. I guess the reason is that with FPS games, it's all reaction and reflexes, well maybe a little bit mental also, but not much. You don't have to learn a lot of keystrokes or overworked the gray matter thinking of your next move/strategy.

The next blockbuster game that I'm waiting for is a truly realistic FPS game with really superior AI where you as the shooter have an option at some point in the game to take time out to let's say eat dinner or lunch, or take a piss. Or get a f**** hard on when you see a sexy woman like in far cry and HL2. Just like a normal human being. Or converse verbally with the different characters via microphone. Express emotions. That would be awesome! I guess we've come a long way since the first wolfenstein, but hey, there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Thanks for all the posts. This forum rocks! Good night all.
