AMD-based 7700m (MJ-12 and Aurora) Download Area

Thread Starter
Subject says it all ... Whos's game? The drivers for the intel-based machine are way different than the AMD-based one. It'd be nice to have all of the official and bleeding edge drivers grouped in once place...

This is what it says on the Alienware site, I guess its for the new case with the logo that is lit up. Not sure what it does. Must allow control of the logo I guess.

How do I install the ezusb.sys device driver?
Answer

APPLIES TO
• Alienware AuroraTM m7700
• Alienware MJ-12™ m7700i
• Alienware MJ-12™ m7700a
• Alienware SentiaTM m3400

Thank you for your inquiry.

Scope

This procedure applies to the mobile systems in the list above that have a blue light on the Alienware Logo and Alien-Head.

After reinstalling Windows, the operating system may ask for the file "ezusb.sys." In order to reinstall the driver, follow the steps below:

1. Download the USB LED Board device driver form the Support Area and extract the contents in a temporal folder. The same driver is available for the mobile system listed above.
Note: In this example the ZIP file was downloaded to the Windows Desktop.

Click here to learn how to access our Support Area.

2. On the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window, select the option "No, not this time" and click on Next as seem on Image 1.

3. Select the option "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)," and click on Next as seem on Image 2.

4. Select the option "Include this location in the search" as seen on Image 3.

5. Click on the Browse button and find the folder "68613" where the ZIP file with the device driver was extracted.

6. Click on the Next button. Windows will install the driver for the USB device (LED Board), as seem om Image 4.

7. Click the Finish button to complete the driver installation.

Once the device driver is properly installed, it should appear under the Universal Serial Bus controllers in the Device Manager as seen on Image 5.

Thank you for your inquiry,

Very Handy information, This is sorta a side intrest on the same subject. But did everyone know with the new keyboard bios (AW's) the Alienware and Alien-Head lights can now be toggled on off. I found that between system repairs (I think it was a fn-f2 combo). I thought it was very cool at the time !

I don't know what all systems that applies to but I do know it works on my m7700 aurora. My case came with the updated bois already installed.

On my m7700a Fn+F1 switches the Alienhead and logo lights off
Fn+F2 switches the fans on/off not sure if this overides the auto cut on/off of the fan but i guess they run all the time anyway???

not necccicarly... (bloody spelling)
if you swich everything to min then it can work without a fan... for a while.
but that defeats the point of a gaming Laptop.

anyone figure out what Fn+F10 do?

it beeps... but apart from that.

Can someone please provide me with the Aurora M7700 AMD sys newest bios. I have no account to access the Hive at Alienware web sight. and the technicians are not wanting to give it out with out a account. they are been so secretive about their system. I do Know one thing I would never buy another Alienware machine because they will not give you support unless you are the original owner huh.gif. I guess they want you to take the machine to your grave with you.
The reason i need the latest bios is because they told me that i can put a 500 GB hard drive in it but when i got the hard drive it cant recognize it. cry.gif

The latest version from what i understand should be like BIOS v 1.00.09
