so i was on tech support for 2 hrs last night....
tested 1 drive
tested other drive
put primary drive into secondary slot
put secondary drive into primary slot
removed raid
created raid
booted from cd
partition hard drive
installed windows on primary partition

and that is where it stopped...scanned my hd to install windows and sat at 0% for and hr. i did not do the quick scan

so i turned it off, rebooted, boot from disk, quick scan..
quick scan completed
installing windows went SLOOOOOOOOW
omg how slow did it go!!
drivers.cab took 15 min to load
so it is already 12:00 by this time...i fall asleep and when i wake up it says it cant find the file push enter if you have a cd in the tray.

so i just turned it off and now it sits quietly......

will work on it again tonight...

so it seems to be the raid drivers...

i have xp installed on one of the hard drives and using the other as a slave...

now my question..how do i update the raid driver with f6 if laptop does not have a floppy? can i use a flash drive? can i use a flash drive for the bios update as well?

The BIOS update on the download site is a NERO project (to burn a CD) call them and they will walk you through this process; i did it 2 days ago. I don't know if flash drives will work, but that's why a free floppy drive ships w/ every system. Call and ask on this too.

may be making a call tonight

Not to dash your hopes, but you're supposed to check the shipping list against what you got and report missing items within a few days (15??). don't know if they'll honor this, but its worth a shot, i mean, good grief its a fricking USB floppy drive, the company shouldn't care that much. Lemme know if it works and I'll call and say I never recieved my laptop...
