Well I think this will be the BEST machine on earth when it is released but the question is really is it necessery to have 4 graphic cards in a machine. jeex what would require that

and 4.26ghz cpu is really something far from amazing aloang with 2gb of graphic ram

they say this will be limited i wonder how much is it gonna cost, probably around 4500

Damn, what a price!

Yeah, move this topic to where it belongs, since its not about a notebook.

that $9930 gets you the 30 inch dell lcd, but only gets a 1 year warranty!

almsot 10 grand and only a 1 year warranty?
WHAT? 1 year? come on!
Ah, but still, the price is pretty high.
Well, if I would have had 7 grand I'd have 10 too.

Outta my price range either way.

it is 9930 released today this is just crazy

thats insane $$$.

i think it just goes to show how americans are (i am one). they invest in manufacturing something like this, so what, that can sell 10 of them?

i think they are cool looking, but hell, i can build four extremely fast desktops for that.

so is it needed? HELL NO

anybody find it funny how it only comes with about 3000$ worth of hardware plus a 30"?
Also, you can build the same thing for around $3000, minus the LCD.
so what your saying is your basically paying $7,000 for a cool paint job and a 30inch monitor?

Yeah whatever, if you can get me one for that price i'll pay you tomorrow - hell, i dont even have $1000!

Dream on! the components in that pc are amazing.
I don't see how you could possibly build that for $3000, the processor is $1000 and the graphics system is $2000 and you still need a mb, hard drives, sound card, RAM, etc. Sure, maybe if you stole half the parts you could do it for $3000 but otherwise I don't think so
post #16 of 30
he did say around.

anyway, i think its safe to say it is rather overpriced.
Yea, he did, I guess his around and my around must be quite a bit different then

I just don't consider $4000 and some change to be around $3000, but that's me

*EDIT*

I wouldn't say overpriced, just the price you pay for exclusivity

quotting this from an other thread.

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2006--Dell (NASDAQELL - News) today announced it is selling the XPS(TM) 600 Renegade desktop, previewed at the Consumer Electronics Show in January and reloaded with technologies that can virtually change entire worlds for serious gamers.

The limited-edition, custom-painted Dell(TM) XPS 600 Renegade delivers to U.S. consumers an immersive gaming experience based on the industry's first dedicated physics accelerator -- the AGEIA(TM) PhysX(TM) processor.

The AGEIA technology lets users interact with supported games in more sophisticated and realistic ways. The AGEIA PhysX processor can power real-time dynamic motion and interaction on a massive scale so games can feature large numbers of complex characters and moving objects in incredibly life-like environments. For example, instead of using traditional weapons, gamers can pull down the roof on their enemies, crushing them in a pile of collapsing debris.

"By bringing out the big guns for PC gamers like physics accelerators and NVIDIA's Quad-SLI graphics, Dell is definitely serious about gaming," said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games. "Dell's leadership is great for gamers and the industry, which is why Epic is showcasing our upcoming Unreal Engine 3 on Dell XPS hardware at the Game Developers Conference."

oh yeah, of course you need it, it will be soo hardcore extreme and "to the max" that your eyes will bleed! its like the same reason why people drive hummers!
People drive Hummers cause...well I dunno wtf someone would drive a Hummer, it's more like why someone would drive a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche, do you really need all that power, no, but it's nice to show off
