Am I missing something, or was that just a rumour that Dell would be launching something today?

You know we should have been expecting this. Best to just go on like nothing was going to happen today.

Well except for everyone with a current XPS who is praying for a 7900 GTX Go upgrade

You left off two things that catch my eye:
the 30 in LCD
1 year warranty

(Good and aweful)

Since we're already not talking about notebooks.....
there is a new option on the regular XPS600:
AGEIA® PhysX® Physics Accelerator [add $249 or $8/month3]

I didn't think those were out yet?
Pretty sweet though!

I am glad to those things hitting the OEM's. I am just curious how long it will be before the build a MObile sized unit to place in the lappies. That would be a killer then.!!!

Realistically, I wouldn't expect to see that in a laptop for at least a year, and even then it will probably only be in huge (19in) ones capable of SLI and stuff like that...

It is listed as being "Limited Quantity", and I will guarantee you that they will all sell, and there will be a need for more. Just watch, you will see the Renegade on Ebay for $15,000.00.

Now, untill someone else comes out with a quad SLI setup, the above will hold true.

If I had money to burn, and didn't need trivial things like food, clothing and shelter, I'd be the first inline to buy one!!!

if you need that much graphics power you either need a life, or are working on the next Star Wars movie

LOL

The point of the XPS Renegade isn't that anyone NEEDS that much graphics processing power (a few might) it's more about WANTS, I'd love to be able to say I have a quad SLI setup or a $10,000 computer for that matter, even if I only play Pong on it. Some people like to spend extravagant amounts of money on toys and that's what it's all about.
Yep, if I made good money I'd buy this. You wouldn't have to upgrade your gpu's for a very long time (for once)...well cept maybe dx10 but there will be quad sli for that too.

wonder how much profit they are making? a grand..or two?
so no Go 7900gtx then lol ?
