I dont know what I've done wrong here but will explain here.
I went and bought a Netgear 802.11g card for my laptop but unfortunately my laptop did not agree with the card and refuse to detect it when I inserted it, so I removed it and fiddled around with something which could of been drivers or something, sorry can't recall. Also it could of been the chipset in the Netgear 802.11g which my laptop did not like, though other brands like Netcomm, Dlink, Surecom etc all work well.
Also I've got two PCMCIA slots (top and bottom) and I always use the top slot, very hardly use the bottom one unless I really need to.
No my problem here is when I insert a card into the top slot by rights I normally get a beep and it detects it etc, but now I get nothing, no beep, detection what so ever it just refuses to detect any card I insert. If I insert the card in the bottom slot all works well, it detcts it and asks for the drivers etc etc, so dont have a problem there. Also when I go to the device manager and while the card is in the bottom slot I can see the Ethernet Adapter listed in the DM. If I eject the card, the listing in the device manager dissapears until I reinsert it again. If I go back and insert it in the top slot nothing happens just sits in there, even the device manager does not list anything.
I can recall I had this problem a long time ago and fixed it but now I've forgotten.
I need to make the top PCMCIA slot detect my card.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
