3.0 or 3.2 processor?

I am going to get 3.2 proccesor and was wondering if it is better than the 3.0. I know it may sound stupid asking but i was on a different forum and someone told me that the 3.0 was better than the 3.2. Just wanted to see if i should go with the 3.2 or the 3.0
Thanks!

Just my opinion... For now, save the cash OR put it into a DVD-r or more RAM or ect... The gains posted by those with .2 more GHz are next to nil and in no way will increase your gaming experience.

Again, just my two cents.

ok thanks, so it won't be any better/worse?

You would only notice a difference on paper (or on some crazy benchmarking program that measures CPU throughput). Never in a game. The games we're playing are dependent to a degree on CPU but moreso on GPU's when you're looking at a speed difference of .2GHz

Oh, ok i think i'll use it on more ram. Thanks for your help!

The jury is out on this one.... I'm not so sure there's a HUGE difference, but there has to be some. If you have the extra $, go for it. I did so just because an extra 200mhz can't hurt.

yeah any people care to do something processor intensive on both so we can compare?
how about time it takes to rip dvd's to an other format? that keeps the processor toped out for a while right?

yes it can and no you will not see any difference...amd processors yes but not on intel.

I have the extra cash and i have already maxed out all the other settings. So i might go for the 3.2, it might make it a little faster.

At this level you are not gonna see any difference between a 3 and a 3.2. Save you dosh and put it towards some nice add-on!!! or book a nice short holiday(vacation) with the difference.

you will notice a difference when rendering in 3dprograms.

no you won't When useing 3ds max and discreet combustion 3.0 two desktops side by side the 1.4 was 1 sec slower then the 2.0

and how long did it take to render that scene?
when rendering for 2-3 days, the 3,2 will save hours.

You know you want the power.

"and how long did it take to render that scene?

thats Bs... maybe 5 min at best and will put money on that. Its clear as day you know nothing about how the Intel processor works... you will see no time change when rendering a scene even if its for a year. Its been proven and with lower speeds then that like a 1.4 and a 1.8 and 1.9 will run the same. there is NO difference if your just uping the clock rate due to the long a$$ pipe lines the p4 has it was made to scale high it clock rate with no speed increese unless your going 500mhz or more and even then its by 3-4 sec at best. call intel. but since you know everything-_-

As for gold...you know you want to save money and not wast it-_-

So you don't think it's worth it to get the 3.2?

no. i do not know how the processor works. but i know from experience that every little bit of power that you can get from your processor will count when rendering, as that process almost only uses ram and cpupower.

DUDE talk to INTEL THEM SELFS THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU DO LESS WORK PER CLOCK SO THAT THE PROCESSOR CAN SCALE HIGHER. Dear god. No disrespect to you but Its people like you that think clock rate is everything and its not. why do you think amd hold its own with like 10fps in games and with 9 sec of video editing apps? MAYBE BECAUSE CLOCK RATE IS NOT everything hello? your retarded.

reply I don't care I am done get the last word in bah
