3.0 or 3.2 processor? - Page 2

if all there is here is people arguing over what they think the answer is who cares?
can we get some one to render something and time it?

Look come on, let's not beat around the bush.

Anyone that buys a laptop him/herself (and not gets one given to them by their company) is somebody who has some level of affinity to computers. I.e. is someone who has *some* level of passion for technology, or cool gadgets, call it what you will.

Now you coming here to ask whether or not there is a big difference between a 3.0 and a 3.2 ghz machine, is kind of an end within the means isn't it?

You come to ask for reassurance,... everyone knows that 200 Mhz within a scale of 3000Mhz is not very much to lose. You know that, hell the guys at Dixons could have told you that, but no, that isn't the issue.

You came here because you know, and you know that we know, and you know that you want to hear us say that we know that you knowing is ok, because it is known.

That when you buy gadgets, you wanna buy the best there is, the fastest, biggest baddest, you want it. And you would have nOthing else. You want all the power you can get or die trying. Oh yes.

So, eventhough you know already, you now have our assurance, go and get the baddest ass thing you can afford.

Oh and PS:// One day someone will come here and say things which will confuse and perplex. Heresy, blasphemy some will even call it. Pay no heed to this man and his ilk. For he will be of the kind that did not listen to their inner voice, did not follow the will, for that antagonist will have made a purchase with restraint. Wrought with misery, tightfistedness, and greed he is the one haunted day and night by his karma,... and it is he who seeking solace comes with the worm tongue to lure the pure and naive into the same mistakes of his own.

And thus goes the tale of mega hertz.

This No Name dude should change his name to No Brain. Obviously he knows nothing about processor intensive applications. When rendering a video file that takes a substantial amount of time even a small jump in CPU speed will decrease the total amount of rendering time.

The video I am currently working on has at least 800 different transitions. If I can cut off 1 second of render time per transition, that will save a lot of time.

I think 3.2 is better only because of the numbers. I need the best of the best, and it even says so now!

Alienware3.2 how does your machine play? I was looking at your sig and you have the same specs that i am thinking about getting. Does it run well? Do the games run well?

It runs great, I have the maxed specs. Im just one of those people who have to have the best ya know! The games play perfect, and the movies dont have any trouble at all. If you have any speceific questions IM me on AIM, but all in all, there really arnt any negatives about this machine, and too many positives to list! hope that help man!, also give my review a looking at, its called AW 3.2.'s REVIEW

Yea, i'm someone who also likes to have maxed out specs just so i won't have to buy a whole new computer when the games and such are calling for more prosessor speed and memory. I have a dell (which i am using right now) that i got about 3 years ago and my specs were Pentium 4 1.5 ghz, and 256 memory. Well i've learned my leson. I am not able to play any of the new games. Thats why i am looking into buying an aw. I checked out your review. Very well written.

P.S. Has anybody played Star Wars Galaxies on their alienware? If so, how does it run?
