HELP! Serious problem here

Something strange and extremely disconcerting happened--

I was underclocking my GPU with ATI Clock Controls in NHC when suddenly my laptop froze. No problem, I thought. But after the restart (and up to now) my fans have been constantly on and my speakers have completely STOPPED FUNCTIONING.

I don't know what's going on right now.

Prior to this disastrous GPU underclock, I have done the NHC/Speedfan quiet fix mentioned all throughout the z70va threads.

Can anyone help me?

+ edit: I've tried system restore, no luck. Fans still on full throttle, no sound.

check device manager first to see if there is any yellow mark.

Alright, by some miracle the sound has returned--so that's good. In the device manager theres no yellow !, so that's good too. The graphics card seems to be functioning normally after I reset the clock to default.

However, the fans are still behaving a little strangely. I mentioned that I applied NHC/Speedfan fixes to my laptop, so how do I reset it back to default (uninstallation?)?

yup, if you get rid of the programs, they can't tell your computer how to behave anymore.

looks like it was overheating so bad, if CPU was overheating then hardware drivers became corrupted so CPU can't recognize it. I did a test on a desktop a while back I unplug the CPU fan and boot to Windows, at the time CPU was so hot that it can't read hardware drivers that cause sound card, network card and other hardwares malfuntion.

Well here's an update on my situation:

As far as the fanspeeds go, everything is back to normal. But now my speakers have been malfunctioning. Sometimes on bootup, they work fine, but at other times sound won't even come out of the speakers (or at least it comes out as a quiet, muffled static noise). Plugging in external speakers/headphones results in the same silence/static. Another weird problem is that sometimes Windows will boot without sound but maybe 10 minutes later sound will return.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

this seems to be an increasingly common issue with the Z70va. Check out the sticky at the top of the support page.

Same problem. Sound comes and goes. And when it comes back it's full of static sounds at times.

Found any solutions?
