Upgrading m5500 vs upgrading the m5700

I have a m5700 on order with a 6800.

I noticed that the m5500 has a new upgrade option the x1600 and supposivly another one coming this summer.

Do you guys think it would be better to go with the 6800 or the x1600 and be able to upgrade later on. Im just afraid that my 5700 will always be stuck with a 6800, while the 5500's will be able to upgrade because of the mxmII.

Also, how does the x1600 compare to the 6800go?

Thoughts?

I think it depends on what you want to do with the laptop. I must admit that the portability and the upgrade options of the m5500 with MXM are major factors for why I picked the 5500 over the 5700.

the 5700 utilizes mxm III, and is equally upgradeable. u will probably be seeing the go7600 for the 5500, and the go7900GT for the 5700.

thanks messiah! I didnt know it was mxmIII. I feel at ease now.

My notebook moved to phase 5 yesterday so I should get it soon.

hmmm i thought the 7600 was mxm2...i believe you can pop in an mxmIII 7800, which of course, blows all of these other cards away. im still waiting for my x1600 so we will see how it fares.
