yeah i knew nothing is safe in the vehicle unattended and I had told her to never leave it in the car unattended, but she must have thought a 5 minute stop to get a salad was safe... I dusted the trunk for prints, turned those into the PD, doubt they will catch someone...

Where the hell might the "Sarah" Desert be? You mean Sahara? I say Death Valley in Arizona will do just fine.

Death Valley is in California/Nevada.

Sorry to hear it. Feel your pain bro.

My 700m and T42 are never left in the car. I carry them with me no matter what. My 9300 never leaves, it is in-house pet. My libretto is used as GPS device and is always left in the car, near the passenger seat, but it is not very easy to break into Mercedes ( or I want to believe so ).

What a load. Sorry to hear about your lappy getting stolen. I am a pilot and I keep mine behind my seat because another pilot friend of mine had his laptop stolen out of the closet (which is just behind the cockpit) by a deplaning passenger!
oh wow that really sucks about your pilot friend, I wonder how he got it out?
That sucks....when I have to go somewhere with my 9300 I keep it in the trunk - I have a convertible too and it generally worries me.

How would the person have known a lappy was in the trunk?
Holy crap. I'm assuming this was in a busy parking lot in broad daylight too, given what she was doing when it happened. That's pretty scary since i sometimes leave mine in my trunk.

He thinks that while he was deplaning that the guy said it was his and the Flight attendant gave it to him.

Yeah it was broad daylight, at 2PM, on a busy road, busy parking lot, about 50 feet from Sacramento Police HQ! Unbelieveable... I dont think they knew it was in the trunk but probably had some type of remote keyless entry device that operates on different frequencies. Got lucky, popped our trunk, and scored a free XPS Gen 2!
