why are Asus notebooks so ridiculously less expensive than comparable laptops from Sony, IBM, etc.? I understand it's barebones / not well known brand... any downsides to purchasing from them besides less customer support?
is asus just a better version of dell (i.e. very economical, but with better build?
why are there almost no U.S. Asus distributors (i.e. most of the e-tailers and Ebay sellers are from Canada / Asia)?
I'm currently looking for an intel core duo processor with 14" screen for business purposes... I know Asus laptops are great for gaming, but are they practical business machines - keyboard quality, glossy screen annoying to look at for work, etc.?
Is the z62j my best choice, or would the highly anticipated w3j be great for business use also?
Thanks! really appreciate the help.
EDIT: I for got to mention that there are several ASUS retailers in the USA. One of which is c9tech (Great retailer BTW). There is a list of retailers on ASUS's website. I do not know much about them personaly I only delt with c9tech and geared2play but I would aviod gear2play because the rep there is very rude and childish.
