Has anyone tried Oblivion on their laptops? I'm wondering how mine 5720 will cope with it.

Feels like the wrong forum for me, but I play Oblivion in my 8790 (9700 256 mb video card, 2 gigs ram, 3.4 processor) and it runs at medium/medium high with the video card being the bottleneck. Great game, even if the character designer is... funky.

My 5320 plays it at high settings flawlessly. You wont have any problems with a 7800.

What rez you running' it at? I run 1280x720 (i think??) on medium and get pretty good frames. I'm thinking about downgrading the details to get more frames... i have a BITCHIN" headache right now

I'm playing oblivion on my 9860 X800 and It plays smoooooth at 1680 x 1050.
Here are my FPS:

Inside buildings = 45 - 80 FPS
Inside City= 35 - 60 FPS
Outside world= 25 - 40 FPS

This is with some INI tweaks and some OC. Game runs perfectly, hasn't crashed, but there is definately a memory leak. At least for me. Alt-Tab clear or restart tends to clear it up.

In game texture quality is set to high, water is medium with reflections on. Grass is about 25% up the slider.

I hope your head feels better Bahama.

If you're going to mod your ini, its better to do it custom. Tailor it to your graphics card and all that Stop by the elder scrolls forums for some help with that one.
