What names should we call them? LOL...

I think everything freezes at the same time and CTRL-ALT-DEL won't work here and I'm not sure about the WLAN thing. Actually I can't even activate my windows at it freezes all the time.

UPDATE:
I called Customer Support today, they told me it could me either the hdd or the cpu. Furthermore, they told me to reinstall windows with formatting and stuff, this went very well but while installing windows, the computer froze again. Guess it's the CPU now, going to call them again tomorrow.

Unfortunately, neither the nVidia driver update nor the cpu stress test shed any light on things. I just got another random lockup a little bit ago. Guess my only recourse is a drive-wipe and reinstall now. Not sure what else to try.
Well, I have the same system and the same problem. Random Freezes without any error after 10 minutes or 10 hour...
No Temp probs, no hardware probs...

GrayFox or UbuRoy--any more updates on your end?

I recently went around 150 CPU hours of idle time before a freeze. That's the longest interval ever. Haven't made any changes to my system. After the latest freeze, I'm now back to experiencing up to 3 lockups per day.

More internet spelunking revealed a suggestion about disabling USB root hubs and controllers. I did that, but I still got a freeze shortly thereafter.

Do any of you experiencing the lockup problem have shared IRQ's? If so, which IRQs are being shared and by what componets (Start--->Run---> msinfo32, click + by Hardware Resources, then select IRQs). Mine shows the following shared IRQs:

IRQ 20 is shared by:Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller and VIA SATA RAID Controller

IRQ 21 is shared four times by VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller as well as by VIA USB Enhanced Host Controller

IRQ 22 is shared by Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller and AC97 Soft Spkerphone Modem with SmartSP

IRQ 31 is shared by two instances of VIA PCI to PCI Bridge Controller

All of the IRQ sharing shows "OK" in the status column.

I have nothing listed under "Forced Hardware".

Finally, under Memory I have:

So, nothing looks openly problematic to me, but others may see something that I don't.

BTW, a shot in the dark--I just turned off AMD Cool 'N Quiet, so there's no more chip throttling on my system. We'll see if that does anything besides raise the Aurora's operating temperature.

Ok, I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.

Strong indications are that Cool 'n Quite might very well be the culprit behind my Aurora's random freeze ups. I'm currently at 194 CPU hours of idle time (that's really 97 hours per cpu x 2) with no further freezing. I've run everything and hibernated the machine a bunch with no problems. Could the solution really be this simple? The acid test will be when I reenable Cool 'n Quiet to see if the freezes return. I'm going to run a bit longer without it, however, just to make sure it's not something else.

I'm sure that as soon as I post this, the machine will freeze and I'll be back at square 1. Still, I thought it'd be worth mentioning.

Do the rest of you with the lock-up problem have Cool 'n Quiet enabled?

Check this thread, 4th or 5th post down. Guy says he's not running it and its still freezing:

My freezes are resolved

It was at first the graphic driver and at 2nd the clock frequency. Riva Tuner overclocked by itself much to high. It overwrite my own overclocking selection directly in the NVIDIA Driver choices!!!

Best overclocking is 445 Core and 1115 RAM. With more, I get the random freezes and lags in BF2. With this or under this choice, all is running fine!!!!

NVIDA 84.22 with custom Inf runs at best!!! All newer Version had made problems after some time...
