POP! Screen blew up

I sat down to my 5690 yesterday (which I've loved since 2004), it had been on overnight, and touched the mouse with a little shock and *pop*, the screen started to go white from the edges and it bled inward. Then it showed this wallpaper-ish pattern over the screen and then it went black (off, no glow or anything).

I also have another monitor hooked to the laptop and as soon as that happened it said "No signal". I turned it off and turned it back on and it sounded like it started up fine, but the screen was still black and the second monitor was still not receiving a signal.

I thought, "okay, well maybe it just blew the video card". But I went to start it today and it tries to start up, the fans start to blow for about 2 seconds and then cuts off.

I'm freaking out. Did it blow a whole lot more than the video card?

Feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's severly bad news.

it might be the mobo, the video card is built into the mobo

Thanks for the reply doggie96.

I'm checking with Sager, but I wanted to see if I got a quick response here. How much would a new mobo cost, with shipping and everything for a 5690?

prolly 500-600

I've been bad* and haven't talked to Sager yet. But I better do it this week cause I have projects to work on. I was wondering if it would be worth it to have someone local check it out just to tell me what's wrong with it or should I go ahead and send it back to Sager since they should probably fix it (it's not under warranty anymore, but who else would fix it?).

Thanks for the follow-up doggie, maybe it'll get me in gear.
