IBM Barebones/high performance barebones

I have a couple of questions

1. Does anyone have a link to IBM barebones? I once recall being able to choose from Z series and T series barebones but I cannot find them anywhere now.

and also

2. Does anyone know of any barebones that offer the x1600 or similar/faster video? (I know about the MS 1039 so far)

thanks.

I don't think regular brands sell barebones. I think only chinese brands like MSI or ASUS do.

@mikemex, you'll find that all laptops/computers are asian brands. Most are from Taiwan. Dell is a lovely American company right? Wrong, Taiwan. Alienware is an American company. Taiwan again. So, that particular part doesn't matter.

However, he is right so far as I know. I've never seen a mainstream notebook sold as a barebones unit. www.rjtech.com www.istnc.com www.avadirect.com have good high end barebones available.

There are IBM barebone systems, you can buy them missing HD, mem, and optical. I will see if i can dig up a link.

Here is an example of a current model IBM Thinkpad that can come in a barebone model:

EDIT: It looks like they killed the link.

ultimately I would like an ibm barebones laptop with high res screen (larger then 14.1" also) and either a V5200 firegl or x1600. It would seem that this is impossible unless I somehow found a T60p barebone...I'll consider emailing IBM but hey if they don't want to sell them I'll go somewhere else. Too many decent laptops around for me to spend time chasing links deaded by lenovo. HP business is taking over anyway and you can actually get a current generation video card with widescreen format laptops! Imagine that.

model numbers have been secured, onto phase 2 (no thanks to your post)

and yes people have secured those notebooks w/o configuring them, just need to get lucky with the rep I guess

Spetsnaz Op that was a great page for "New Think Express models...do you have any idea whether their "refresh" models that are traditionally intro'd in August will such a model intro? I've been trying to find what model they will designate their "Merom" refresh...

Thanks.
