how to audio out + internal speaker together on 630m/ XPS140

Hi how can I connect speaker (a subwoofer) to the sound out while still using the internal loudspeakers?

Everytime I enter the cable into the audio out my internal speakers mute. I already tried every option in the mixer configuration.

Or otherwise what would be the cheapest price for a 2.1 SPdif sound setup?

Thanks in advance for the probabely stupid question.

From my experiences as a computer tech and from personal experience whenever you plug headphones or speakers into the plug it mutes the internal speakers. Why this is I don't really know.

However I would like to know why you want to add just a subwoofer and use the internal speakers. I use a 4.1 speaker system when I need real audio power.

Sound is just so much better.

Thank you for your answer - well normally I have my laptop or pc plugged into a high-quality stereo system but as I am now for 6 month in France I couldn't take it with me so I thought I would by some speaker for cheap which I will have to throw away before returning to Austria because it is too much of a hassle to take em with me.

the cheapo labtec 285 2.1 sytem however needs 2 audio out - one for the sub and one for the satelites -which however sound worse than the laptops own speakers. My lappy only has one sound out and one spdif digital audio out.

And I can't really find out information about how normal setups are done on a laptop. Help needed

cant you buy a y connection?

makes a single plug audio jack, dual

i think thatll work for cheap for ya

hey, yeah stupid me could have thought using one - using them anyhow quite often for those single stereo plugs to normal stereo plug.
