Hello,
After taking a break from looking at laptops, I found out my dad can get a discount with HP on their laptops. I currently have an HP and it has lasted me nearly three years now.
The laptop I am looking at buying is the ZE4600. Athlon XP-M 2400+ 1.8Ghz, Windows XP Home with Works, 256MB RAM, 30GB 4200RM HD, DVD/CDRW Combo Drive, 802.11B Wireless Lan, 10/100 Ethernet, 56K modem, 14.1 TFT XGA (1024 X 768), ATI Mobility 7000, 2-year HP Express Warranty. All for $920.25 after a $100 rebate. I feel like this is a good buy and my parents are pleased. I can get a 15.0in screen instead of the 14in screen. I didn't see the need to because both run the same resolution and right now I have a 13.3in screen.
The only other thing I'll be adding is Microsoft Office and later on a 256MB upgrade to a total of 512MB Ram. I'll be using the computer for word processing, PowerPoint, Access, Accounting Programs, and general Internet use. Occasionally I'll travel with it. I don't plan on bringing it to class, just the library. Any comments would be great.
Thanks,
Lance
