The port replicator uses the 90 w power brick which can also be used for the I8600 for faster charge time. I bought the 90 w power brick instead of the 65 w so now, I got two of them. I should have saved my money and stayed with the 65 w.

Do the RJ45 port & the modem port have their own controllers or do they just extend the existing hardware inside the notebook?

Thanks.

probabaly something built into the motherboard to make room for the wireless miniPCI cards

The LOM is a chip on the notebook motherboard, while the modem is a daughtercard on the notebook.

Does the D/Port have it's own network controller & modem, or does it only extend the notebook ports?

Hey

do you know if you can upgrade the firmware for the APR?

cyke, could you look into your image server provider? It says that your account has been disabled.

Does anyone else have pictures of their 8600 with a D-view stand (I think that's the name, I'm thinking about the angled stand)? I'm curious as to how the port replicator is attached to the stand.

Thanks.
